FAQs

The best way to paint large walls is by using a combination of "cutting in" around the edges in 1m segments with a detail brush, blending with a small roller, and covering the main area using a large roller in a "wet edge" technique. This method ensures a fast, smooth, and seamless finish across the whole wall.

Proper preparation involves moving furniture, laying down and taping a dust sheet (like the Seriously Good Dust Sheet), checking the wall for damage, filling cracks and holes, sanding, cleaning with sugar soap, and masking off detailed areas like skirting boards with tape (such as Seriously Good Masking Tape).

"Cutting in" is the decorator's term for painting around the edges of a room, light switches, skirting boards, door frames, etc, where a large roller cannot reach. We suggest doing this in 1m segments and using a detail brush for precision.

For the main, open areas of a large wall, we recommend using a large roller, specifically the Taskmaster 9-inch Roller, to cover a greater segment of the wall quickly and without bending or stretching.
